A Bit About Clare...
It's fitting that I was raised in Roswell, New Mexico because I've always felt like a bit of an alien (IYKYK). I never quite fit in - literally. I've been 5'10 since the 5th grade. Aside from my height, I was a performer through and through. Any opportunity I had to act in a Nativity pageant or sing classic tunes in a sparkly dress through show choir was one I cherished. During those moments I was able to inhabit a different world, be someone completely new, live a life that seemed so foreign and adventurous to my own.
So I did what many young creatives do- I left my small hometown and moved to the big city to pursue acting. I graduated from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts where I received classical training at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and studied film acting technique/production at Stonestreet Studios. During this time, I took an especial interest in movement, Shakespearean performance, art history, and psychology.
Since graduating, I've found much fulfillment and joy working as an actress and expanding into the creative field as a model, brand ambassador, and content creator.
I've had some incredible experiences along the way. One was participating in the first-ever annual Lee Strasberg Actor's Showcase in Los Angeles. Others included traveling the world (for real- not just through the medium of my imagination) and learning more about various cultures and perspectives.
Yoga and Tai Chi practices have become daily rituals for me, and through them I find a balance of wellness in mind, body and soul- and I'm a Libra, so balance is everything! These practices also help me to stay present and grounded in my work.
But the most important discovery I've made is that I don't need to perform to be somebody else anymore. Because truthfully, its not about me. It's about moving others. Listening. Connecting with people on a real, raw, truthful level. Maybe helping someone else feel a little less alone, a little less alien. Or even better, reminding someone that being different is actually a gift, and one to embrace.
I've embraced it, and am so grateful to have found this calling that I can work toward every day for the rest of my life. So paint me green, put me on a stage or in front of a camera, and journey with me into the weird and wild and wonderful.
